Vienna - Kittens often get stuck in unusual spots, and rescuers sometimes have to go to extraordinary lengths to help them. Police and firefighters partially dismantled a car to assist a trapped kitten in Vienna.
An article on Yahoo News reported that residents of a Vienna neighbourhood were awakened by loud meowing. A kitten was found hiding under the hood of a car, but took off when someone tried to pick her up. The animal then ran under several other parked cars and seemed to disappear, although her meowing was still audible.
Firefighters and police ended up jacking up a police cruiser and following the sounds to find the kitten hiding in a small space inside the vehicle's floor panel. It took the rescuers half an hour dismantling the car before the feline was captured, but the animal didn’t appreciate their efforts. She bit the firefighter who finally got a hold of her.
The kitten has been taken to an animal shelter.
