Police have arrested a woman who admitted she robbed a McDonald’s in Oklahoma, while wearing girdle-type underwear over her face.
Sharon Lain, a 51-year-old Midwest City resident, admitted that she was the thief who was captured on surveillance video around 3 a.m. on July 20. Police received several tips, which led them to the woman, after the video tape was aired on television.
NewsOK reported that, after a restaurant employee noticed the money was missing from the cash register near the drive-through window, a manager reviewed the surveillance video.
The tape shows the woman walking up to the window, sliding it open, and taking the money. She was wearing dark clothing, a blond wig, gloves, and underwear held in place over her face with yellow paper clips.
The woman ordered police off of her property when they found her, but she was arrested on a trespassing complaint because the house was condemned for not having water.
When police searched the house they found the underwear, paper clips, dark clothes and several drugs, including methamphetamine and marijuana.
Lain said she was a former night shift manager with McDonalds, but was fired about a month ago.
According to NewsOK, she admitted to the burglary and told police that a friend had given her money to pay her water bill, but she lost it at a casino. She decided to steal the money and gamble with it, hoping she would win big. She told police she had already lost the money, and admitted she had a gambling problem.
She is being charged with second-degree burglary, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia and trespass.
