Vechta - The court threw out the case of a teacher in Germany against a student she claimed was abusing her by playing on her fear of rabbits. She claimed the girl had been tormenting her by drawing rabbits on the blackboard.
The Telegraph reported that the teacher had been seeking an injunction against the 14-year-old girl to stop her from drawing rabbits or claiming that the woman had a paralyzing fear of rabbits.
Witnesses told the judge that the woman had run from the classroom, crying, when she saw that a rabbit had been drawn on the blackboard.
The girl who had been accused denied that she was the one who had done the drawings.
Two years ago, at a different school, the teacher took a teenager to court. In that case, a settlement was reached in which the student agreed to never again claim the woman freaked out when she saw a rabbit or heard the word.
A pupil from that school was attending the school where the teacher had begun working, and told others about the woman’s fear of rabbits.
The woman has a month during which she can appeal the verdict.
A fear of rabbits is known as leporiphobia.
