Extortion allegations are being investigated by Los Angeles County Sheriff's instigators in the case involving Oksana Grigorieva and Mel Gibson.
CNN quotes spokesman Steve Whitmore:
Allegations of extortion have been brought to our attention and we are certainly going to look into it.
A source that is close to the investigation also told CNN that Gibson's lawyer met with Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators Tuesday to present evidence that Grigorieva allegedly attempted to extort money from Gibson to keep the recordings secret.
RadarOnline also released another recording of a heated argument that is supposedly between Gibson and Grigorieva. In the tape, the man is accused of striking the woman and the couple's child.
Whitmore has said that the recordings will be part of the investigation into the alleged domestic violence.
CNN reports that Grigorieva filed a restraining order against Gibson because he had struck her in the face, says her spokesman, Stephen Jaffe. On this order, a court hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning.
