A Whitby man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Oshawa on Gibb Street this morning. It is reported that the driver lost control of his blue Yamaha motorcycle.
Police was called to the scene at 2:25 a.m. The motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle and struck a curb as he approached Limerick Street. He was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained life-threatening injuries.
Michael Potter, 23, of Kendalwood Road in Whitby died at Lakeridge Health Oshawa hospital.
A section of Limerick Street was closed this morning while police collected evidence for their investigation. It is still being investigated if speed and alcohol were factors of the accident.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have information or witnessed this incident.
