Dutch and Spanish communities in Berlin met one another in front of the Siegessäule - the victory column - in order to watch the final match of the South African World Cup 2010.
The match was not really up to expectations and many supporters were bored, but at the end, three minutes before the finish of the extra time, the Spanish midfield Andrés Iniesta made the match point, and the Spanish community in Berlin could celebrate the victory to shouts of "Espana, Espana."
The Spanish national team was already the favourite by bookmakers before the beginning of the World Cup and it proved to be the strongest team during the South African tournament.
The team, also, according to the football German magazine Transfermarkt was also already -- with a value of 650 millions Euro -- the most expensive team at the competition, 400 millions Euro more than Holland (252 millions Euro).
