Queen Elizabeth II, the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, is set to hold another title, great-grandmother, as her eldest grandson, Peter, and his wife are expecting their first child.
Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne and his wife Autumn, are expecting a child in December. This would be the first great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth II. The Associated Press reported that, "a baby who will be Queen Elizabeth II's first great-grandchild."
Peter's mother, Princess Anne, is the youngest sister of Prince Charles. Anne turned down Queen Elizabeth's offer to bestow royal names upon both of her children. Still, Peter does remain the 11th in line to the throne. Peter almost lost his lineage when he married Autumn who was of the Catholic Church at the time. She had to denounce Catholicism and join the Church of England in-order for Peter to hold his place.
Peter and Autumn normally stay out of the public eye. They live in Hong Kong where Peter is in the banking industry, they did raise some eyebrows when they sold the photo rights to their wedding for 500,000 pounds. Evidently that is a bit of a "no-no" to the Royal Family, especially seeing that the buyer was the gossip magazine "Hello!" The Queen was less than pleased with the couple, but probably the news of a great-grand child has helped to mend the fences.
Peter is hardly ever in the press unlike his cousins William and Harry as well as their father Charles. The latest rumor circulating was that one of the Russian spies busted this past week in the United States, Anna Chapman was "fixated with princes William and Harry and schemed her way into their social circle."
