By Cynthia Trowbridge     Jul 10, 2010 in Entertainment
After Gibson's alleged assault and threats to his ex-girlfriend his talent agency informed the actor's representatives they were dropping him.
Mel Gibson was dropped by his agent William Morris Endeavor Entertainment amid allegations that he assaulted and made death threats against his ex-girlfriend.
Following the death of Gibson's longtime agent, Ed Limato, who died July 3 the agency has dropped Gibson.
According to nydailynews sources said the only reason William Morris Endeavor Entertainment continued to represent Gibson was because of his relationship with Limato. The agency source said, "Mel was really important to Ed. He was with him for 32 years and I think Ed saw him as a son."
After Gibson's DUI arrest in 2006 when he made anti-Semitic remarks Ari Emanuel, the agency's partner expressed his dislike for Gibson.
It is reported many agencies did not want to take Gibson on since the recent allegations against him.
One studio chief is reported saying, "I'd rather get engaged to Lindsay Lohan than have anything to do with him."
TheHollywoodReporter said Gibson's representatives were contacted this week by the agency that they no longer represented him.
Reports by ABC7 say Gibson is under investigation for the possible domestic assault of his ex-girl friend Oksana Grigorieva. reports RadarOnline released the audio of the argument between Gibson and Grigorieva when he ranted his racist, sexist attack against her. RadarOnline claims the male voice is that of Gibson. CNN said they have not independently confirmed the authenticity of the tape and the voices on it.
