Celebrating 30 years of Pride in Toronto the Pride Parade was as colourful as it's ever been. The city's mayoral candidates were part of those walking the route alongside members of the queer community.
Crowds, some people waiting for two hours, cheered for each group that passed by. Some in the crowd were there to peacefully protest just like some of those in the parade were. A polite group of Jewish youth were at Church and Bloor Streets to lend their voices to the issue of Israeli Apartheid.
Overall the atmosphere was joyful. With choruses of Happy Pride the march that started at Wood St and Bloor Street was the perfect illustration of Pride Week in Toronto. Happy, gay and proud.
