Berlin - In the World Cup quarterfinals, Germany defeated Argentina 4-0. The Germans' crushing counterattacking destroyed Diego Maradona's dreams and secured Germany into the semi-finals.
It's been nother happy day for the German's football fans.
The German national team has defeateArgentina in the second round of the final phase of the South African FIFA World Cup with a large win, 4-0. Thomas Mueller opened the scoring for die Mannschaft ("National Team" in German) after just three minutes, and Germany took second half goals from Miroslav Klose and Arne Friedrich to round off their comprehensive victory. The last goal was scored later by Kloese.
In a sunny and wonderful day, thousands of people met in Berlin in order to support their beloved national team. Many big screens were broadcasting the game in different venues and the black-red-yellow flags were everywhere.
"We are in the semi-finals," screamed an enthusiastic Joerg from Charlottenburg, a borough in Berlin, "and we will defeat any other teams. We will be the champions!"
The next match for Germany will be against the winner between Spain and Paraguay. The last time Germany won the World Cup was in 1990.
