Former presidential daughter Chelsea Clinton is getting married according to a resident who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the resident isn't authorized to divulge the information.
The only daughter of former president Bill Clinton and State Secretary Hillary Clinton plans to tie the knot with Marc Mezvinsky in the upstate New York village of
Rhinebeck on July 31.
The resident says Chelsea Clinton and Mezvinsky will wed at a private mansion just outside the town about two hours north of New York City.
Huffington news reports:
According to "bride-side sources" only 400 people will be invited--including donors, campaign, State Department, and Clinton Foundation staff, foreign dignitaries and both Clinton and Obama White House officials, but Chelsea says she must personally know every guest.[/quote
Clinton was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her name was inspired by her parents' fondness for Judy Collins's 1969 recording of the Joni Mitchell song "Chelsea Morning".
Clinton excelled in academics. A family friend described her as a precocious child. While in elementary school, Clinton skipped the third grade. Her parents encouraged her academic excellence, with her father keeping a miniature desk for his daughter in the governor's office when he was Governor of Arkansas.
Chelsea Clinton's future husband Marc Mezvinsky is the son of former Iowa Governor Edward Mezvinsky. Her mother is former NBC reporter and congresswoman Marjorie Margolies Mezvinsky.
Marc and Chelsea were schoolmates at Stanford University where they both studied finance. The groom is an investment banker and currently working with Goldman Sachs.
