By Andrew Moran     Jun 27, 2010 in World
Toronto - Unmarked Toronto policemen have made several arrests in front of the temporary detention centre in the eastern part of the city. The police officers had thrown several protesters in unmarked minivans and had proceeded to strike them.
What started out as a peaceful march and rally in front of the temporary detention centre in the eastern part of downtown Toronto took a different turn when arrests and upheaval took over the scene as unmarked police officers and unmarked minivans proceeded to arrest and beat several people.
A handful of police officers began to take protesters they intended to target, as CP24 reported, put them down to the ground, threw them in two unmarked minivans, beat them down with their forearms, shut the doors and sped away.

Dozens of officers held journalists and photographers back from the scene and yelled, “Get back! Get out of here! Get back! Behind the line!” But the policemen could not hide from the photos and video.
Demonstrators were upset by this act and began to repeatedly shout, “We are peaceful, you are not.” However, the protesters still stood there in “solidarity” and were very peaceful. They sat on the ground, saluting the peace sign.
