Washington - United States Vice President Dick Cheney has been admitted to the George Washington University Hospital after experiencing discomfort. Cheney has a long history of heart complications.
According to the Associated Press, former Vice President Dick Cheney has been hospitalized after feeling discomfort at the George Washington University Hospital. It was not revealed whether his hospitalization was related to his long list of heart problems.
NASDAQ reports that 69-year-old Cheney is expected to remain in the hospital over the weekend. It’s believed that Cheney will not be released from the hospital until next week.
“Former vice president Cheney was not feeling well and was seen this afternoon by his doctors in their offices at George Washington University,” said spokesperson Peter Long in a statement, reports Agence-France Presse. “On the advice of his physicians, he was admitted to the hospital for further testing. He is expected to remain in the hospital over the weekend.”
The former Secretary of Defense's list of heart problems includes quadruple bypass surgery, two artery-clearing angioplasties and was fitted with a pacemaker in 2001.
