Ontario Red Power United plans to blockade Trans Canada Highway

Toronto - Ontario Red Power United, a First Nations group, is coordinating a peaceful G20 blockage of the Canadian Pacific Railway and Trans Canada Highway Thursday.

The group's Facebook page says that this protest will show the world the issues the Native People are facing across Canada and send a message to the government that they are serious about their rights. The page stresses that this protest is to be peaceful and that there are strict police guidelines. The group wants to call the world's attention to the four billion people in the world suffering from poverty while the richest 10 percent own 85 percent of global assets. According to their Facebook page over 350 guests are planning on attending the blockade protest.
