Popular US rapper Lil Wayne entered a plea deal with Yuma county prosecutors in Arizona where he is facing charges of weapons and drug possession.
Lil Wayn is currently serving a year jail term for almost the same offense in New York. The charges stemmed from a 2007 traffic stop of his tour bus in New York when authorities said they smelled marijuana, and as they approached, he tossed aside a bag with a loaded .40-caliber handgun.

The charge stems from an incident in January 2008 in which his tour bus was stopped at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, 78 miles east of Yuma. Authorities say they found cocaine, Ecstasy and a handgun on the tour bus.
During a change of plea hearing Friday in which he appeared via video from a New York jail, the 27-year-old Grammy winner pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug.
Lil Wayne is scheduled to be sentenced on June 30 for the Arizona case.
