Paraguay also took a step closer to the last sixteen of the competition in group F after beating Slovakia 2-0, Vera took the lead for Paraguay in the first half after latching onto a Barrios pass, victory was sealed for the Paraguayans four minutes from time when Riveros curled in a shot from the edge of the box.
Italy has left themselves needing a win against Slovakia to progress into the last sixteen of the competition after a draw against the All Whites yesterday afternoon.
