The Marquee Blog, an extension of CNN Entertainment, released information that says in 2011 several different celebrities--both on the big screen and small--as well as a myriad of musicians will have their name placed on the famous Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California. The list includes not only the aforementioned but also greats such as Oprah Winfrey, Tina Fey, Danny DeVito, Penelope Cruz, Donald Sutherland and Ridley Scott--and that's only for television and film. Hollywood's Chamber of Commerce will also bestow the honor to musicians such as Slash, The Rascal Flatts, Will.i.Am and Melissa Etheridge.
John Pavlik, the chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, was cited on the
Chamber of Commerce website: "It was not an easy job to winnow down the extra large number of nominations this year to reach these 30 names," and continues to say that "...next year will be another exhilarating year on Hollywood Boulevard." The aforementioned website also includes information and a .PDF application for people to nominate their next selections to the Walk of Fame, as well as an extensive list of all the 2011 winners.
The Marquee also quoted
How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris, as he had posted on his Twitter account that receiving a star the same year as The Muppets is "priceless." Speaking of, other Muppet stars who already have a star include Kermit the Frog and Big Bird as well the brainchild of all these characters, Jim Henson himself.
