WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is ready to fight Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto or Ricky Hatton for his last professional boxing fight before retiring to concentrate on his legislative work as a newly elected congressman of the Philippines.
Pacquiao talked about his next fight tentatively set for November this year upon his arrival in the Philippines Monday from a trip to the US to receive a twin award in boxing from the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) in New York. The Filipino boxer was given the 'Fighter of the Decade' award and the 'Fighter of the Year' award.
Pacquiao said he is proud to receive the award as few boxers have the opportunity to be given the prestigious award from BWAA.
After receiving the award and watching the Cotto-Foreman fight at the Yankee Stadium in New York, Pacquiao and wife Jinkee flew to Mexico as guest of Fernando Beltran, a popular Mexican boxing promoter.
Upon his return to Manila last Monday, Pacquiao proceeded to the Development Academy of the Philippines for his schooling before starting his career as a politician. The popular Filipino boxer is schedule to be sworn into office on June 30. Pacquiao is taking a short course on legislative work at the premier school for leadership and governance.
The Filipino boxer said he is ready to face anyone in the ring, whether it is Briton Ricky Hatton, American Floyd Mayweather, Jr., or Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto.
