Nigerian soccer fans back home expressed satisfaction with the 1-0 loss Nigeria's Super Eagles suffered in the hands of the Argentine national team on Saturday.
Marseille's defender Gabriel Heinz shot Argentina to eventual victory in the 6th minute with a header that became the only goal keeper Vincent Enyeama did not save in a match that saw him frustrating all goal attempts from the best player in the world, Lionel Messi.
Williams, who watched the match in Nigeria's commercial capital of Lagos, said the result was not a disappointing one.
''If they continue to play like this the all qualify from the group and they will take second behind Argentina,'' said Williams.
Another fan of the Super Eagles in Lagos, Jimi Eboda said: "I am happy with our national team today. With the kind of game they played today, believe me we have gotten a team, now.
"We are going places with the boys we have on ground now, because the match we have today gives us hope that tomorrow will be very bright for Nigeria,'' the engineer with a broadcast outfit added.
The loss suffered in the hands of the Argentines was the 3rd in a world cup encounter. The Argentine team had beaten Nigeria 2-1 in the group stage of USA 94 and 1-0 in Korea Japan 2002.
Speaking to the media after the match, Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper, said: "We gonna go back and ... see what happens. We gonna watch the tape and see how it goes."
The Israel-based goal tender added that their fans "should not be disappointed. They should keep wishing us well, stay with us and stand by us through out the way."
