Toronto - The fourth annual Luminato Festival of the Arts officially kicked at Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square where live performances were held and public and private officials made speeches discussing the importance and success of the arts.
In the famous Honore de Balzac short short story “The Unknown Masterpiece,” Frenhofer tells the young Nicolas Poussin, “It’s not the mission of art to copy nature, but to express it! Remember, artists aren’t mere imitators, they’re poets!”
On Friday, the fourth annual ten-day celebration of Toronto arts, the Luminato, officially began its festivities where motion pictures, literature, dance, music, visual arts, theatre and design will be featured throughout the city.
