article imageJoe Biden: Israel has right to deal with its security interest

Washington - United States Vice President Joe Biden appeared on the PBS show the "Charlie Rose Show" to discuss the recent situation in the Middle East between Israel and the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla.
According to CBS News, on Wednesday, in an interview on the “Charlie Rose Show”, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden defended Israel’s attack on the peace activists on the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla, which saw nine activists killed and dozens wounded.
The Vice President explained that Israeli security forces had the “absolute right” to board the Gaza ship to prevent weapons smuggling or any type of terrorist activity. Biden also stated that no other U.S. administration in history “has been as up-front and supportive of Israel's security as this administration,” reports Press TV.
“They (Israel) have said, 'Here you go. You're in the Mediterranean. This ship -- if you divert slightly north you can unload it and we'll get the stuff into Gaza." So what's the big deal here?” Biden continued, “Well, it's legitimate for Israel to say, 'I don't know what's on that ship. These guys are dropping eight -- 3,000 rockets on my people.’”
Ynet News reports that the U.S. has not joined the international community in condemning Israel’s actions this week but insisted that they need to apply pressure on Israel in order to allow aid shipments into Gaza.
