Wrangell - During a guided brown-bear hunt the guide from former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's hometown of Wasilla was shot and killed.
According to Alaska State Troopers Bret Millo, 50, of Wasilla, Alaska was fatally shot by 51-year-old Ralph E. Delius of West Bloomfield Township, Michigan.
Freep.com reports Delius is a pediatric cardiovascular surgeon at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.
Alaska State Police said the accident took place around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Troopers were called to the head of the Bradfield Canal near Wrangell around 1:30 a.m.
Chicagotribune.com reports troopers said the shooting appeared to be an accident.
The investigation is being carried out by Alaska State Troopers and the Wrangell Police Department.
