Phoenix - Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney will campaign for his former rival during the 2008 Republican primary, John McCain. The Arizona Senator is facing a tough primary challenge from former Congressman J.D. Hayworth.
According to the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone poll, Senator John McCain has a twelve point advantage over challenger J.D. Hayworth. Six per cent of potential voters are undecided and 2 per cent prefer another candidate.
CBS News reports that former Massachusetts Governor and possible 2012 Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, will campaign for McCain in the state of Arizona next week. Romney endorsed the four-term Senator for his re-election bid.
On June 4, McCain and Romney will appear together during a town hall meeting in Mesa at the Mesa High School, according to the Associated Press. Romney previously campaigned for McCain during his book signing in Phoenix.
McCain has received the endorsements from former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and numerous business groups, reports the Phoenix Business Journal. Hayworth has received the endorsement from Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
