Toronto - Chalk art is a treat for the residents of Toronto with several artists around the downtown core working on pavement. Jo is one of those artists on Queen Street West in front of Eaton Centre.
Jo was working this sunny Saturday drawing for the crowd. Laughing when asked by an older man if she could draw him for a price, she responded with "for a big price!"
Chalk art lasts for just a short time. The creations erased by the feet of people hurrying down the street or the elements. The masterpieces can only be captured by a view at the scene or a quick photo to preserve the daily treasure.
Jo has been working professionally as a chalk artist for just a few months but she's surviving. Loonies and toonies dropped in a bucket provide the artist with funds to carry on, entertaining the crowds.
