Cruzeiro Do Sul - A strong earthquake 6.3 magnitude in the Richter scale rocked Brazil today. The tremor occurred near the border with Perú and it was confirmed at this magitude by the Peruvian Geophysical Service.
A powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake occurred today at 16H18 GMT in Brazil, near the border with Peru, as reported by the United States Geophysical Service (USGS). The tremor was centered 127 miles east-southeast of Cruzeiro do Sul in the Brazilian state of Acre, and 328 km east of the town of Pucallpa in the Peruvian Andes.
According to the USGS, the quake struck at a depth of 577.6 kilometers, according to initial reports, reducing the chances that you damage the surface. The Peruvian Geophysical Service confirmed the quake near the Peruvian Amazonian Andes.
At this time there are not clear reports of damage or casualties.
