Famous actor Nicolas Cage has revealed to The Sun that his diet follows some very strict guidelines. He picks his meat based on the way the species in question reproduces.
Poultry and fish are high on Cage's list of "to eat" foods, reports
The Sun.
Cage told The Sun
"I actually choose the way I eat according to the way animals have sex ... I think fish are very dignified with sex. So are birds ... But pigs, not so much. So I don't eat pig meat or things like that. I eat fish and fowl."
The Sun affectionately calls Cage "a bit bonkers."
Cage did not say whether he eats beef, goat meat, mutton or any other meat from animals that reproduce in manners similar to pigs.
One of Hollywood's top-grossing actors, Cage has extravagant spending habits, and is thought to own more than 50 cars, numerous properties around the world, an unknown number of yachts, two islands in the Bahamas region, and once had a pet octopus, according to
The Daily Beast. Cage can command as much as $10 million for a movie, although some claim he can squeeze up to $20 million out of producers to take on a role, said
FreeMoneyFinance.
Entertainment world gossip has posited that Cage is suffering from financial problems. Placing #45 on the
Forbes top 100 celebrity list in 2009, Cage owes the IRS an $6.3 million in unpaid taxes, said the
Times of India.
Cage has also been embroiled in a number of lawsuits in the past few years. He recently won one suit he launched against Kathleen Turner. Cage is being sued by the mother of his son, and Cage has also launched a
law suit against his former manager, claiming the manager made unsound investment decisions which ruined Cage's financial health, according to
E Online. Cage is also being sued by a California real estate company which claims Cage and his manager engaged in fraud.
One of the actor's latest films,
The Bad Lieutenant, attracted a lot of attention for his role as a shady and drug-addled police officer -- and box office earnings.
The self-made actor has starred in over 60 movies, and has over 70 titles to his credit.
IMDB said Cage was awarded an honorary Fine Arts degree from the California State University in 2001.
