article imageHeroes axed, Law & Order gets a new format

It has been announced that Heroes will be cancelled by NBC and the long-running show Law & Order will be shown on TV screens in a different setting.
The news was announced as the schedules for the fall have been made available. FlashForward is another show that will no longer be shown.
Heroes, which was broadcast on BBC 2 in the UK, was created by Tim Kring and made its debut on NBC in 2006. It fared well in the ratings to begin with but viewing figures began to fall for later episodes.
Law & Order won't vanish completely. There are plans for a show, under the same name, to be set in Los Angeles. The show was first shown in 1990 and was based in New York.
Viewers can also look forward to a new creation from JJ Abrams, the creator of Lost. An updated version of The Rockford Files is also to appear in the schedules and NBC say The Office is to stay on screen but it is uncertain if Steve Carell will stay on as he's only signed up for one more season, according to BBC.
