Jessica Simpson knows how to make a splash. She has been the dumb blond, she has had a very public break-up and aftermath with John Mayer, she was Daisy Duke in the movie 'Dukes of Hazard,' been chastised about her weight in the media and most recently she admitted to brushing her teeth just three times a week. That also drew criticism from her dentist as well.
Still, many people have questioned her self-esteem and whether or not it might be low. Still she addressed the media and fans at New York's Operation Smile Annual Gala saying that people could find happiness right here in the United States.
was quoted as saying, "I've had to travel from country to country but we can do it right here in America and find ourselves, believe in ourselves and be who we are."
Simpson, who will turn 30 this year, is confident that this year will be different, and that she can find love. She admits to having been through a great deal during her 20's, which included being married to Nick Lachey.
stated, "I think is going to be a good year for me. I experienced a lot in my twenties – a lot more than a lot of people in their twenties would experience. I feel old in a lot of ways, but I feel naive in ways that I can't wait to see what happens next."
Now she has unveiled a new program that is designed to help improve the self-esteem of young women called, "A Beautiful Me, Believe in Yourself, Change the World," and that is part of Operation Smile.
