Jackson’s father sets record straight: 'Michael was not gay'

By Andrew John     May 4, 2010 in Entertainment
The father of the late Michael Jackson says he wants to put the record straight about his son’s sexuality. Michael, he says, was not gay.
According to, Joe Jackson is annoyed at Michael Jackson’s former best friend and doctor, Arnold Klein, for saying the singer was gay and had a relationship with Klein’s office manager, Jason Pfeiffer.
“It’s not true,” says Joe Jackson. “Michael was not gay.”
Jackson Senior “feels Klein has betrayed his son”, says the website, which quotes him as saying: “He has no respect for Michael . . . to say things about him when he’s gone is shameful.”
Pfeiffer appeared on television last week, claiming he had had a sexual relationship with Michael, and Klein spoke of walking in on the two men and seeing them with their shirts off.
“In the last few days,” says the website, “Klein has told TMZ Jackson was gay and had no problem with people knowing about it.”
Joe Jackson went on: “He’s a doctor and knows better than to break his vows against a patient.”
Klein had earlier told TMZ that he did not betray Michael Jackson by making the claim over an affair, and he’s disturbed that he’s been receiving “a lot of horrible death threats.”
Hit it off
Pfeiffer told Extra last week that he was Jackson’s boyfriend right up to the singer’s death last year.
“We definitely hit it off the first time we met,” he’s quoted as saying.
Pfeiffer tells Extra that he and Jackson connected immediately because of their childhoods. Pfeiffer says he was smitten. “We were just sitting there and we both started to cry and I got up and went over to him and said it’s going to be okay Michael . . . We hugged. And it was kind of then that the hug was a little bit more.”
He adds: “It wasn’t until a few months later that it was obvious that Michael had feelings for me as well.”
