"You could tell [the Toronto Raptors] didn’t really want to make the playoffs", says Cleveland Cavalier guard Lebron James after cruising past the Chicago Bulls, winning 4-1 in the series.
Cleveland Cavaliers' Lebron James offered some harsh words for Toronto basketball fans on the dismal end of the Raptors regular season, reports the National Post.
The 2009-2010 Raptor season was highlighted by the quick fall out of playoff contention at the end of the season.
The Raptors didn't want to make it, said the Cleveland all-star.
"You could tell," stated Lebron in an interview after moving past the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the playoffs
Lebron pointed to the game between Chicago and Toronto on April 11, a game at home for Toronto where the Raptors lost 104-88. Chicago went on to secure the final playoff spot.
"Honestly, we would rather play Chicago....we were going to get pushed a little more," added James.
Lebron asserted that Chicago was the more motivated team and appeared thankful that the Bulls moved past Toronto to better prepare the Cavs for the later rounds of the playoffs.
"We knew that we had to be in tune every possession."
