A few days ago, Shelton Benjamin was released from the World Wrestling Entertainment with several other superstars. As of right now, Shelton is on a 90-day policy where he cannot work for any other wrestling company on TV until those days are up.
TNA has declared that they are interested in making Shelton Benjamin an active wrestler for them. They would also like to bring in Charlie Hass with Shelton. In addition to that, there are rumors flying around that TNA might reform the World’s Greatest Tag Team, which was a stable with Kurt Angle, as the leader, and Shelton and Charlie Haas as his sheep that did his dirty work for him.
My Two Cents: I must admit that I love this idea. I was an enormous fan of WGTT. When Haas and Shelton aligned with Kurt Angle, the stable as a whole did an outstanding job of hiding both Haas and Shelton’s biggest flaw: their charisma.
However, on the downside of this idea is that TNA is bringing in more wrestlers, which is clogging up more and more the other wrestlers’ opportunities to establish themselves and bringing more venue to the company that is already facing major debt.
TNA needs to find a happy-medium. I mean they cannot bring in more guys and not fire other active wrestlers. It is extremely illogical to keep bringing in more guys, or women, without releasing others when their contract is up, because of these guaranteed contracts in today's wrestling era where a wrestler gets paid whatever he is said to be paid no matter what he does.
