University of Pennsylvania junior DE Owen Thomas was found dead at his off-campus residence on Monday afternoon. Thomas was a 6-foot-2, 240 pound defensive end. He had just been named as one of the team's captains earlier this month.
A junior defensive end, Owen Thomas of the University of Pennsylvania was found dead at his home around 2 pm Monday afternoon.
According to a Penn spokesperson, Lori Doyle, the cause of death had not yet been determined but that, "no foul play is suspected."
Thomas was a 6-foot-2, 240 pound defensive end. He had just been named as one of the team's captains earlier this month.
Owen Thomas was a second-team all Ivy League player in 2009 when he recorded 29 tackles, and finished second in the league with six sacks.
Thomas was found at his off-campus residence.
