Toronto - This week's Lotto Max jackpot in Canada is $41 million but now Torontonians can receive their lottery information from a unique group that announces the week's jackpot at busy intersections and transit stations.
“I wonder what it would be like if I won a million dollars.” “If I had a million dollars I would...” These are the things that most people say once in a while, especially if they play a lottery such as Lotto Max or Lotto 6/49.
Whenever there are large jackpots to be won, Canadians line up at ticket vendors and drop $1 or $2 to grab their chance of fulfilling their dreams. Even those who don’t normally play the lottery buy a $1 ticket in the hopes of becoming a millionaire.
Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot is an estimated $41 million and you may not have known until a group of men dressed up in early 20th century clothing announced this week’s drawing at various street corners, subway stations or a variety of other locations in the Greater Toronto Area.

Whenever there is a big jackpot in Canada, a group of guys promote the lottery in the clothing and promotion style of the early 20th century.
For the last several months, a faction of men have dressed up in pinstriped pants and vests, white shirts and Country Gentlemen Hats urging you to buy your Lotto Max lottery ticket for the chance to win the jackpot.
One man holds a newspaper with the front-page stating the week’s jackpot. Another man talks into a bullhorn telling busy Torontonians to buy a ticket. However, they don’t sell tickets as one woman asked one gentleman if she can buy one.
"Extra! Extra! This Friday's Lotto Max jackpot is $41 million. Get your ticket at the nearest ticket location," one man said on Friday at Yonge Street and Bloor Street.
Purchasing tickets closed at 9 p.m. on Friday.
