article imageNBA's Dwyane Wade declines introduction to Gotti family

New York -- Miami Heat superstar, Dwyane Wade, rejected the request to take a photo with the grandson of convicted mafia crime boss, John Gotti.
Both parties were apparently in a celebratory mood in New York City's meatpacking district, but a scuffle outside a club quickly left one packing, reports USA Today.
Carmine Gotti, grandson of deceased mafia kingpin, John Gotti, was celebrating his birthday upstairs at a club while Dwyane Wade was having fun downstairs in the same building after his team's win against the New York Knicks earlier that evening.
Carmine Gotti's birthday wish was to have a photo with Miami all-star Dwyane Wade.
A minor confrontation ensued between the two's security personnel prompting Wade to refuse the request.
"There's no way I'm meeting the Gotti's or having my photo taken with them," said the basketball star.
Carmine's grandfather, John Gotti, who passed away in prison in 2002, was the boss of the Gambino family, and was serving life imprisonment for charges of murder, tax evasion and racketeering.
