Worcester beat the Essex Pirates at Worcester University on Saturday taking one step closer to becoming a piece of eight, the last team to make the BBL play-offs.
Wolves took the lead in the first quarter of the game and continued to dominate the Pirates until they took the lead going into the fourth quarter of the game.
A late surge by the Wolves gave them the lead in the fourth quarter and they held on to a nine points gap to take the two points and move them one step closer to the play off spots.
Top scorer for the Wolves was Harry Disy said "it was a tough game, we needed the win to get us closer to the play-offs, there are five more games and every win counts", Paul James added "Harry had a tremendous game in a crucial game for us".
Rod Middleton also added a respectable 24 points to the Wolves tally, Coach Paul James said "Rod stepped up and played well, he controlled the tempo of the game and put points on the board".
Commenting on the Essex defence James added "they controlled the tempo of the game well for 3 quarters they caused us problems".
Worcester made a 35 point 4th quarter with contributions from Daniel Gilbert, Rod Middleton and Harry Disy along with Kastytis Normantas, Paul James added
"Kastytis played really well, he has had extended court time and has stepped into the role he has been playing, he's added a new dimension and energy to the team".
Worcester are now one step closer to the play-offs with only five games remaining.
