article imageCyndi Lauper's Give a Damn Campaign launches

The Give a Damn site has launched days later than planned. The site funded by Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Fund promotes equality.
We Give A focuses on many types of social issues where gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality is often overlooked. From hate crimes to health care the issues are covered in a comprehensive way.
Those at Give a Damn want everyone, straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender to speak up and show their support on the issues.
Cyndi Lauper has been an advocate for more than 25 years for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. She has worked with her straight peers to promote equality.
As Lauper states:
If one us is not equal, none of us are.”
One of the features on the site is being able to share your personal story.
Parents have written about their fears that while their straight children will be able to achieve their dreams if their gay child wants to be in the military their dreams may not come true, if they are open.
The site was to launch last week but actress Anna Paquin's honesty about being bisexual in the video caused a huge surge of users. That surge came at such a rapid pace the site could not keep up to the demand. After a quick weekend move to a more stable solution the site is up and ready for new members.
