article image90+ aftershocks in Mexico-California region after strong quake

By Andrew Moran
Apr 4, 2010 in World
Baja California - After Saturday's large 7.2 magnitude earthquake, dozens of aftershocks struck the Mexico-California region with the number expected to increase over the next several days.
When the severe earthquakes struck the nations of Haiti and Chile this year, large amounts of aftershocks rocked both countries. Seismologists still warn of a strong aftershock striking either country.
Digital Journal reported Sunday’s earthquake moments after it occurred and since then there have been dozens of aftershocks, according to the United States Geological Survey.
In the Mexico-California region, there have been at least 90 aftershocks ranging in magnitudes between 3.0 and 5.1. Most of the aftershocks have occurred in Baja California, Mexico and southern California.
Sunday’s earthquake killed one man as his house collapsed, reports Reuters.
