Angry wife gives Ontario man a ride -- on the hood of his car

By KJ Mullins     Mar 29, 2010 in Crime
Windsor - A woman is being sought by Windsor, Ontario cops after she took her common law hubby for a ride on the hood of his car this weekend during a domestic dispute.
Windsor Police reports note that the couple have been having an ongoing domestic dispute. This Saturday the dispute turned violent when the wife tried to run down her husband in his 1994 Chrysler LHS.
According to police, the man returned to his home after being out to find his wife gone. He then went to help a neighbour with yard work for a couple of hours. While in the neighbour's yard the man saw his wife getting into his car. At that point he approached her. The woman responded by locking the car doors, closing the windows and starting the car while ignoring him. The man tried to stop the woman from leaving by moving to the front of the car.
The woman didn't stop, instead she placed the car in gear and tried to hit him. The man jumped onto the hood getting a ride while the car left the driveway. Clinging to the hood the man held on as the car zoomed east on Broadway toward Matchette Road. The woman attempted to knock her hubby off of the hood by swerving, stopping and reversing the car. As the car neared Matchette Road, the man lost the fight, falling from the car onto the road. The car struck a Union Gas marker pole and sped away down Matchette Road.
The man was taken to hospital complaining of pain to his rib cage and was experiencing difficulty in breathing. He also had abrasions on his forehead and hands.
Police are looking for Robin Brierley, 45, for Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm, Assault With A Weapon, Mischief Damaging Property, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm. She was last seen driving the white 1994 Chrysler LHS. The car's Ontario licence plate is BECZ 767.
