article imageHungry burglar dishes up meal, ignores cash

By Sandy Sand     Mar 23, 2010 in Crime
A hungry burglar broke into a restaurant, served himself a meal of rice and chicken, ignored cash in the register and left a trail of dirty dishes in his wake.
Police in Hillsdale, New Jersey, are speculating that the person who broke into Matsu Sushi Grill was a homeless person in search of food and not a hard-bitten criminal.
According to police the suspect gained entry to the restaurant, checked out the freezer where he found chicken that he cooked up along with some rice.
They noted that is was remarkable that he passed on taking $200 in cash that was in the register, but he did leave a pile of dirty dishes behind.
Police speculate they might have a one-hungry-man crime wave on their plate to deal with in the small town of about 10,000 residents, because this incident is similar to one last year when a culprit broke into a nearby fried-chicken fast-food restaurant.
