Sarah Palin seeks $1-million per reality-TV episode

Anchorage - Former U.S. Republican Vice Presidential candidate and rumored 2012 presidential contender is reportedly seeking $1-million or more per episode of her own reality TV series, which has piqued the interest of both A&E and Discovery networks

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is reportedly seeking between $1-million and $1.5-million per episode to star in a possible reality series that she is developing, according to CBS News. The reality series would be based on her life in Alaska, which she has described in Los Angeles earlier this month as a “planet Earth type look at the State.” The series would have Palin provide television viewers guided tours of the State, including trips to to a gold mine, visits with local fisherman and conversations with residents. Palin’s family could also make a few appearances in the show as well. The Seattle Post Intelligencer reports that networks A&E and Discovery Communications are interested in the series that could be titled “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” Discovery would broadcast the reality series either on its flagship station or TLC, while A&E would televise the show on either its air, Lifetime or the History Channel. In general, reality TV stars are underpaid such as the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” who earn a few hundred dollars per episode, reports the Toronto Star. However, if the author of Going Rogue does receive such a salary then she’d be in the same range as the Osbournes who all earned $1-million per episode.
