California town asks MTV to withdraw penis-shaped sculpture

A few weeks ago, an MTV crew arrived in Truckee, California, permit in hand, and built an eight-foot-high snow sculpture. Little did town officials know when they singed the permit that the "sculpture" was going to be an ejaculating penis.

Truckee, California is by all accounts a quaint small town located in Northern California. Just ten days ago, the idyllic life of Truckee town residents was turned over on its head when a crew from MTV/New Remote Productions arrived in town and built a large sized penis that was issuing forth a milky white spray, in an anatomically correct manner. A crew from MTV from Los Angeles arrived in Truckee and began building the sculpture between 2 and 3 on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Truckee Police Captain Harwood Mitchell said that the sculpture had been covered while it was being built and when filming began, town residents were shocked and stunned at the display. The MTV camera crews were in the process of filming what was described as "grown men wearing fur" who were dancing around the sculpture as it shot the "white fluid" into the air. At around 4 o'clock, it is being reported that the filming was prematurely stopped after residents complained to town officials and to the police. Captain Mitchell is quoted in the local paper, the Sierra Sun, as saying:

We're following up with the crew ... it is the town's desire to see they delete all that film from their segment or at minimal delete or obscure anything that would identify the Town of Truckee. We're working with them for an amenable solution for both sides.

We're very disappointed and certainly did not condone it.

Town resident, Darla Ford, told the Sierra Sun:

We were so appalled that something like this could take place in our town. Parents were rushing their children away from it so they would not have to explain why grown men wearing fur were drinking the white fluid and dancing in it too. It was disgusting! Is this a new image for our town? Who issued a permit for this to take place? How did this happen? This is right in front of our Chamber of Commerce and California Visitor Center.
