article imageDaylight saving time returns

By Susan Keeping     Mar 13, 2010 in World
It's March and daylight saving time is upon us once again. It's time to spring forward in most of Canada and the United States.
A sign that Spring is approaching again is the return of daylight saving time to most of Canada and the United States. Until 2007, this time change did not occur until April.
This Sunday, March 14 at 2am, most of Canada will turn their clocks forward an hour giving them an extra hour of daylight. Saskatchewan and parts of Northern British Columbia do not adjust their clocks at all throughout the year.
Daylight saving time was originally instituted during World War I to save energy for war production.
For many, daylight saving time just means an hour less sleep and for some it is a huge adjustment to make every year. Daylight saving time is in effect until November when the clock are once again turned back an hour.
