After investigating for several weeks Toronto Police Service has charged a Toronto doctor with three counts of sexual assault.
It is alleged that three victims were assaulted while under anesthetic while they were undergoing surgical procedures in hospital.
The three female victims reported being assaulted by the accused separately. The assaults allegedly took place between August 2007 and February 2010.
George Doodnaught, 61, of Toronto has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.
Doodnaught has worked at North York General Hospital in Toronto for the past 28 years. He has been an anesthesiologist since 1981. He has also worked at a number of other facilities in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Toronto Police are working with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario to determine if there are other victims.
Investigators believe that there could be other victims. They are appealing to the public to contact them if anyone has witnessed, heard or seen anything that may help in the investigation at 416-808-4040.
