Key West - As more details emerge on the woman who got in an accident while shaving her genitals and driving on March 2, it seems she is no stranger to police.
Megan Mariah Barnes was recently charged with reckless driving after causing an accident because she was distracted as she shaved her pubic hair while driving (see previous coverage here).
As more details emerge, it seems Barnes is no stranger to police. Born April 9, 1972, Barnes has faced prior hit-and-run and driving-related offenses.
Reports indicate Barnes has a other previous charges, including one felony count of hit and run; failing to stop and remaining at a crash involving an injury; and one misdemeanor count for driving with a suspended license.
After her most recent incident where her ex-husband held the steering wheel while she shaved her genitals, police revealed she had her license suspended the day prior. Her license was suspended as a result of a Dec. 13, 2009 incident when she was charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and one misdemeanor count of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/cancelled/revoked license.
Earlier this week, on March 9, her license was suspended for five years..
Barnes was placed on probation for nine months and ordered to impound the 1995 Ford Thunderbird she was driving when the shaving incident occurred. When she starts driving again, Barnes must have a breathalyzer ignition interlock device installed on any vehicle she drives.
