article image7-year-old Calls 911 as Parents are Threatened by Armed Gunmen

By Sam Duck     Mar 10, 2010 in Crime
A brave 7-year-old from Los Angeles is being applauded for his courage on Tuesday. His home was invaded by three armed men who threatened his parents.
The boy wittingly locked himself in the bathroom and called 911. The youngster, obviously terrified, asked dispatch for “cops…and soldiers, too.”
The attackers broke into the home around 8:30 in the morning local time, each armed with handguns. They apparently entered the Norwalk home through an unopened door.
The child thought his parents were going to be killed and believed they had been shot. The child pleaded, "Can you come really fast? Please! Please! ... They have guns. They shoot my mom and dad."
The thugs broke into the bathroom and were met by the screams of the child, all of which was captured on the 911 call. The boy was grabbed by an assailant and demanded to know who the boy had talked to.
When told that the police had been called the invaders left without harming anyone or taking anything.
Praise has come from authorities, Captain Pat Maxwell said, "If not for the brave and educated actions of the seven-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically."
