Perkins

According to police on Tuesday, a baby girl was mutilated and killed by a dog in a rural residence in Oklahoma on Monday morning.
At around 11:20 a.m.
local time the incident occurred in a family home south of Perkins in Lincoln country, on Iowa tribal land.
At present the police have refused to comment but the cousin of the victim, Stephan Wood, told
Kfor-Tv that "These dogs are dangerous and people don't need to put that much trust into them,"
Wood also said that the infant was a little girl less than a year old and the dog was a Rottweiler that had been brought home by the family on Sunday. The details of the attack are not completely clear but Wood says that dogs were allowed to roam freely throughout the property.
"I don't know if (the dog) jumped up, took (the girl) out of her arms, or if (the baby) was laying in the bed, and (the dog) came in there and bit her in the bed," he says, "but they're the kind of people that will let the dogs in the house. I think it was irresponsible to have one around an infant."
Iowa Tribal police stated that details of the attack cannot be released as the incident is still under investigation.
The dog was initially purchased to protect the property.
