It was announced over the weekend that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was doing well after his gall bladder was removed successfully. A large rally will be held for the return of the veteran politician.
On Sunday, a spokesperson for the hospital where Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak had his operation, Annette Tuffs, said the President was in good health after his gall bladder was removed successfully, according to
AFP. Media outlets in Egypt also reported that Mubarak was in “stable condition” after his surgery.
Mubarak suffered from chronic calculus cholecystitis and a duodenal pyop. He also had a growth removed from his small intestine. It is expected that the 81-year-old Egyptian leader will remain in the hospital for several more days.
In a joint statement issued by the Egyptian Health Minister and his doctor at the Heidelberg University Hospital, they said, reports
Reuters India, “His recovery continues to progress satisfactorily. Yesterday evening he was out of his bed, spending some time sitting on a chair. He is clinically stable, with normal vital signs."
The President’s health has been a consistent issue since he took over the reins in 1981. His health has created many rumors, while some journalists have even been arrested and handed prison sentences over stories relating to Mubarak’s health.
Al Bawaba reports that Egypt’s ruling National Democratic Party is planning to hold a massive rally for the return of the President at the Cairo International Airport. People from across the nation have been using the Internet to invite others.
