Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault by a woman in Georgia Friday, even though charges haven't been filed against the Pittsburgh quarterback.
A woman at a Georgia club has accused a man fitting the description of Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault early Friday morning.
TMZ first broke the story Friday of the allegation. ESPN was able to confirm with the Milledgeville Police that a woman reported being sexually assaulted or manipulated by a man standing 6-foot-5, brown hair, brown eyes and being white. The police department would not confirm that it was actually Roethlisberger.
Ryan Tollner, Roethlisberger's agent issued a statement saying, "Last night, Ben and his friends met a group of women and everyone mingled together throughout the evening. We have spoken to law enforcement. Based on information currently available, an allegation was made against Ben, which appeared to be dismissed after a preliminary investigation last night. Obviously, given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of motive, but we will continue to cooperate with everyone involved." Tollner stressed that his client had not been charged with anything as of Friday afternoon.
This is the second time that Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault. He is currently facing a civil suit from Andrea McNulty, pending from an incident in 2008 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. In that McNulty case no criminal charges were ever there either.
