After a fatal bus crash Friday morning, an injured passenger acted as a translator for the paramedics. The hero was an 11 year old 4th grader from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Friday morning a bus traveling from Mexico to Los Angeles hit a truck and rolled over around 5:30 a.m. The wreck killed six passengers and injured 16 others including Oscar Rodriguez, the 11 year old hero.
When firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene, Rodriguez helped out the only way he could. He translated for the EMS crew. The assistance that the young passenger provided allowed non-English speaking passengers to get the medical help they needed.

Federal transportation officials said the bus, owned by Van Nuys, Calif.-based Tierra Santa Inc., was operating illegally. The company was told in April and again in December not to transport passengers across state lines.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety has wrapped up its investigation, and spokesman Bart Graves said details will be released sometime next week
