CNN is just now reporting Nancy Kerrigan's father's death has been ruled a homicide. Her brother, Mark, has maintained his innocence in the incident.
Kerrigan's father was said to have died following an altercation with his son Mark during a family argument at the Kerrigan family home. Mark, Nancy Kerrigan's brother, has had problems before, according to press reports. But this newest report comes as a hard blow for Nancy Kerrigan, who has seen her career once almost ruined by an assault set up by Tonya Harding, her competitor in the ice skating world.
In an article just written after the announcement that came from CNN just minutes ago, the Canadian press writes about how the autopsy showed Daniel, 70, father of Olympic skater, Nancy Kerrigan, died as a result of a heart rhthm problem following a fight with Michael his son. At the time he suffered a neck injury and it damaged his windpipe, leading to death.
Mark Kerrigan, 45, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him January 26. He is presently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. Mark has pleaded not guilty to assault and is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. Family members had initially supported Mark in declaring Daniel had died of a heart attack.
Tuesday the Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone, in talking about the specifics of the autopsy report, did mention the fact Daniel also had underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure and clogged heart arteries.
The news about famous personalities and their families comes on the heels of another one, Michael Jackson, where the cause of death was ruled a homicide as reported by MSNBC, and Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's doctor, now charged with involuntary manslaughter.
These celebrity stories have captured public attention, considering the significance of family involvement. and the fame of the Jackson and Kerrigan family. In the meantime, Nancy Kerrigan is reported by CNN to remain in seclusion, dealing with the anguish caused by the death of her father and what is now being considered the likelihood of her brother being charged with her father's death.
